The number of active COVID-19 cases may have risen a little in Dawson County, but the numbers don’t mean the virus is back with a vengeance.
Dawson County went several weeks with few or no new case of coronavirus. But after four new cases were confirmed here a little over a week ago, Dawson County had six active cases as of July 9.
“Well, we’ve seen it decline in most of our counties,” said Zach Holbrooks, executive director of South Plains Public Health District (SPPHD). “Our case level is down. Our active cases are very low right now.”
