Lamesa High School’s new band hall is now open for service.
Students and staff were busy Monday bringing last-minute equipment into the building. They held their first practice in the new facility Tuesday.
“I feel wonderful. It’s awesome,” said LHS Principal Jerry Jerabek. “I was out there for the first practice and the kids were grinning from ear to ear. It’s a beautiful facility.”
The hall replaces a much smaller facility that was unable to accommodate more than 70 students. The former hall also had worn-out carpet and lacked proper acoustics.
