Volunteers from Dawson and Lynn counties gathered this past Monday for a “community effort” to harvest the late E.Lee Harris’s final crop of cotton. The farmers completed the task in one day for E.Lee’s family, including his wife, Gena Harris. E.Lee’s mother, Elaine Harris, said 18 strippers operated at E.Lee’s land in Dawson County on Monday and 13 machines stripped cotton at his land in Lynn County.
