Lamesa’s Movieland Theater is launching a sequel this weekend. Not a movie sequel, but a sequel to its earlier opening this summer after the nonprofit theater was shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic this past March. You might call it “Movieland: The Reopening.” The theater had opened in June showing second-run movies, with the promise that new movies releases would be coming in July.
