Monday is the deadline for local residents and businesses to file reports to the state regarding damages from the severe storm that hit Lamesa and the surrounding area on June 26.
County and city officials here have been encouraging everyone to go online to report damages to the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM).
Those damage reports could help the city, county and possibly other local entities receive state and federal assistance to help in recovering from the storm, according to Terri Stahl, county treasurer here.
“We have to meet a certain threshold (of damages) in order to qualify,” Stahl said.
