Having been appointed to the position this past summer, Cheryl Miller wants to continue serving as the Dawson County Tax Assessor/Collector.Miller announced this past week she will be a Republican candidate next year to fill the two years that will remain after 2022 on the unexpired term of former Tax Assessor/Collector Sylvia Ortiz.Ortiz retired at the end of June – only six months into her third term in office – and Miller was appointed at that time by the Dawson County Commissioners Court to fill the position until the next general election.Miller has worked in the tax assessor/collector’s office here ...
