Members of the Dawson school board voted during their regular meeting Monday at Welch to discontinue the mandate for students and staff to wear masks at school.
That requirement, to protect against the spread of COVID-19, had been in place since the start of the school year. Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently allowed local school districts the option of whether to continue or end the mask requirements.
