ANDREWS – More than 100 members of the Andrews High Marching (AHS) Band now understand the euphoric feeling of coming out of the tunnel and into the Alamodome to perform at state. There’s really not much else like it for marching band members, according to AHS Band Instructor Darin Johns, who has been there before. The vastness of the arena and the setting itself, along with the adrenalin of competing among the best of the best, begins to sink in. The Mighty Mustang Band capped its best season in years with a 19th place finish among the state’s stop Class 4A schools Dec.
