A 34-year-old male was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital in Lubbock on Friday morning, following an oil rig accident near Friendship Baptist Church, southwest of Lamesa. Chief Deputy Josh Peterson at the Dawson County Sheriff Office said the man’s medical condition was unknown on Friday, since the sheriff office had not received any updates. Peterson also declined to release the man’s name, since he was unsure where he lived and whether or not his family had been notified.
