A 23-year-old man has been charged with injury to a child in connection with a situation involving a four-year-old boy who was hospitalized overnight Thursday, according to Lamesa Police Chief Josh Peterson. Charged and booked into the county jail Thursday afternoon was Joseph An thony Garcia. Peterson said Garcia was the boyfriend of the child’s mother, who contacted police Thursday morning. Accompanied by the child, the woman went to the police department about 8:30 to report an injury to her son. Peterson said the boy had injuries to his face, throat and back.
