When the Lamesa Veterans Association (LVA) held its inaugural meeting last month, seven showed up.That number more than doubled Monday for the second meeting. Sixteen appeared to talk and approve the newly formed organization’s 20-page bylaws and designate fellow members to serve as treasurer, signatories and chaplain.“Let’s keep going; growing this organization,” said U.S. Army veteran and Lamesa City Council member James Grayson.It’s been years since Lamesa had a local veteran’s organization to help military vets learn about benefits and services.
