After weeks of collecting toys, clothing and coats, Lights of Love volunteers distributed the donated gifts to 53 needy families Wednesday morning.
Those families picked up items donated by generous residents from a downtown building. Families got sacks filled with toys and other items, and a chance to shift through smaller items that are perfect as stocking stuffers.
“We are blessed and grateful for the generosity of the community especially at this difficult time,” said volunteer Jennifer Smith.
The gifts will go to 138 children who might not have otherwise seen anything under the tree Christmas morning.
