Summer hours will go into effect this coming week for the City of Lamesa Solid Waste Landfill, according to Joe Rodriguez, supervisor of the city landfill.
Rodriguez said the landfill will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday.
The landfill continues to be closed to the public both on Sunday and Monday, while employees at the landfill are excavating a site for a new landfill cell.
Summer hours for the landfill routinely are put into effect the week after the start of Daylight Saving Time, which will be at 2 a.m.
