Dawson County has had more confirmed cases of COVID-19 and more deaths attributed to the virus than all but one of its seven neighboring counties.
The number of cases per 1,000 population here, at 105.1, is actually higher than that of any of the surrounding counties.
Yet Dawson County has received fewer allocations of the COVID-19 vaccine, with the exception of Borden County, which does not have any healthcare facilities.
