Just like the COVID-19 virus created a strange ending to high school for this year’s graduating seniors, it did the same for the careers of five Lamesa school district employees.
With the last two months of classes mostly held on-line rather than in the classroom, the week before spring break was the last time the teachers saw their students in person.
It also prevented the school from holding any kind of farewell reception for the five retiring employees, most of whom announced their retirement after spring break.
