Instead of the traditional six-week grading periods, the Lamesa school district will be switching to nine-week grading periods beginning this fall, according to Superintendent Jim Knight.
That was one of the items discussed during the Lamesa school board’s regular monthly meeting this past Tuesday.
“We’re going forward with that,” Knight told the Press-Reporter.
He said a survey conducted by the school showed about 70 percent support for the change.
About 140 parents, teachers and community members took part in the survey, he said.
The change, Knight said, should benefit students and teachers alike.
