It’s going to take a little more time before the dream of a licensed daycare center at South Elementary School becomes a reality.School Superintendent David Ritchey informed school board members Tuesday that the new Lamesa Learning Center could be ready to accept staff members’ pre-school children by either August, December or January.“I haven’t gotten as far along as I would like to be,” Ritchey said. “I’m excited, but it’s still a long way to go.”The daycare would be another incentive in acquiring and retaining teachers and other workers.So far, five to 11 parents have expressed interested in utilizing the facility ...
