A report showing Lamesa has seen a sharp jump in home values in recent years is good economic news for the city, according to Sean Overeynder, director of economic development for the city.
“It’s an economic indicator that shows we have high-paying jobs in industries that can support the median home values going up,” Overeynder said.
LendEDU, a New Jersey-based financial website, looked at median home value data from the U.S. Census Bureau to see how home values have changed in 787 locations across the U.S. from 2010 to 2018.
Lamesa saw a 40.2 percent increase during that period, according to the report,
