Beginning this coming week the Lamesa school district will shift to providing meals for children on three days a week instead of five, Superintendent Jim Knight said Friday.
But during those three days the school will continue to provide seven days worth of meals, he emphasized.
Distribution will now be conducted only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
On Monday, each child will receive two meals for Monday and two for Tuesday. Similarly, on Wednesday meals will be distributed for both Wednesday and Thursday. Then on Friday, as usual, the school will provide enough meals to last each child through the weekend.
