Although school enrollment numbers aren’t expected to level out until after Labor Day, Lamesa High School Principal David Ritchey is surprised to see the school’s enrollment already has hit the 500 mark since classes started on Aug. 18.Ritchey had predicted enrollment would be around 480 – the same number of students who finished out the school year in May.“The numbers I looked at were low 480s,” Ritchey said Friday. “I think we will still have some coming.
