The federal government partial shutdown has affected offices throughout the country and such facilities in Lamesa are no exception.
Rebecca Webb, County Director for the Farm Services Agency (FSA) in Dawson County, said this past week that her office had funding through the end of the week.
If no budget was allocated to the office by the end of the week, Webb said, the local FSA office would close. Those who work there would not return until the local office receives funding.
