Starting later this month Klondike will have a fulltime school marshal at the school whose focus will be entirely on the safety and security of students and staff.Board members approved the hiring of a school marshal during their regular meeting Monday evening.Because of the nature of the position, school administrators are opting not to publicly name the individual hired to the position.The marshal is expected to begin work at the school before the end of the month but will have to complete specialized training provided by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.“It requires 80 hours of training, which is similar ...
