Klondike school board members voted unanimously during their regular meeting Thursday evening to extend Superintendent Steve McLaren’s contract for an additional year and increase his salary by three percent.The contract extension basically gives McLaren a new three-year contract lasting through the 2024-2025 school year.Action on the contract came after board members spent almost two hours in a closed executive session to discuss the superintendent’s evaluation.No one from the public was in attendance for a public hearing conducted by the board on the school’s rating through the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST).Klondike received a superior rating on the most ...
