Klondike school officials opted to close the doors to students and staff this past Friday in order to give the campus a “deep cleaning,” according to Superintendent Steve McLaren. COVID-19 is just one of the reasons for the action, McLaren said. “We’ve got a couple of COVID cases and we’ve had the stomach bug going around,” he said Thursday. “We’re just going to do a deep cleaning.” He noted that Friday presented a good opportunity to do the cleaning, as Klondike’s scheduled football game was canceled and the school also will be closed Monday for the Columbus Day holiday. ...
