Dawson County and the City of Lamesa are both continuing to see increases in their monthly sales tax rebates from the state.
The rebates represent local sales taxes collected by merchants and sent to the Texas comptroller’s along with the state sales tax revenue. The local tax revenue is then rebated monthly to the city, county or other entities for which it was collected.
The August rebates represent purchases made during June and the second quarter of the year.
