Without any advantage to be gained at this time, County Judge Foy O’Brien said he is not yet declaring a public health disaster for Dawson County.
He said the main reason for the county to declare such a disaster would be to obtain access to any federal or state funds or assistance linked to such a designation.
No such assistance is available at this time.
“If assistance from the federal government or state is tied to a disaster declaration, the county is ready to declare such a disaster,” O’Brien said.
