During 29 years as a volunteer Lamesa firefighter, Alvin Jarrett has been to his share of fires, wrecks and other incidents.He’s spent hundreds of hours training and thousands of hours serving the people of Lamesa and Dawson County when they need assistance.With so much time spent together, a close bond has developed between Jarrett and his fellow firefighters.It is that bond that Jarrett and the other firefighters will miss as he now is stepping down from being a part of Lamesa Fire Rescue.“I have a special place in my heart for this.
