Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lamesa is celebrating the 70th anniversary of it founding this year. That makes this year’s annual Jamaica celebration special, according to Tommy Flores, Jamaica committee chairman. The Jamaica begins at 12 noon on Sunday, Aug. 4, at the church grounds, 407 N.E. Hartford. “It’s for everyone. It’s not just catered to the Hispanic tastes” Flores said. “It’s a Lamesa town festival.
