Lamesa has hired an interim city manager to take the helm when City Manager Shawna Burkhart closes out her tenure here on Tuesday. Joe Pence, a retired city manager living in Wichita Falls, will start work here Monday morning and spend two days with Burkhart before taking over the dayto-day management of the city on an interim basis, according to Mayor Josh Stevens. “We’re looking forward to having him here.
