Dawson County Hospital District board members on Thursday unanimously approved a new tax rate of 40.5028 cents per $100 property value.
That is an increase of just over 6.8 cents from the 2019 tax rate of 33.6777 cents per $100.
The increase is expected to generate about $198,000 in additional tax revenue for the district, according to a recent public notice provided by the district.
The new tax rate includes a 29.333-cent tax rate to fund normal maintenance and operations of the district and an 11.1698-cent rate to pay for the district’s bonded indebtedness.
