A new tax rate and a handgun policy will be the focus of a special called meeting of the Dawson County Hospital District’s board of directors on Thursday afternoon. That meeting will begin at 5 p.m. in the community room at Medical Arts Hospital. Board members are scheduled to determine a 2020 preliminary property tax rate for the district. Following that action, they are scheduled to set the dates for public hearings on that proposed rate and a date to formally adopt a tax rate.
