Directors of the Dawson County Hospital District are expected Thursday to cancel the election planned in May for two positions on the board of directors. That’s because neither position had a contested race develop during the candidate filing period which ended earlier this month. Incumbent Joe Cope, currently serving as the board’s vice chairman, was the only candidate to file for the Precinct 4 seat on the board.
