Midland-based Pinon Operating has received a permit from the Texas Railroad Commission for a horizontal oil drilling operation in the southern part of Dawson County. The No. 1H Chocolate Lab 40-33 will be located about two and a half miles south-southwest of the Sparenberg community and just over a mile west of FM Highway 26.
