Dawson County voters ousted one Democratic incumbent while lending support to every Republican candidate seeking local offces on Tuesday’s general election ballot.
Sheriff Matt Hogg won a second term in offce by defeating Democratic contender Javier Lopez Arredondo by a wide margin.
Hogg captured a total of 3,171 votes while Arredondo managed to draw only 491 votes.
“I’m excited the voters of Dawson County have entrusted me to represent and to take care of their law enforcement issues for another four years, and I am proud to do it,” Hogg said on election night.
