Cost projections for a proposed new gymnasium at Lamesa High School’s and an elevator to a press box at Tornado Stadium are now running a little over $1 million more than projected estimates. That was the news Lamesa school board members heard Feb. 18 when reviewing updates on the school district’s renovation and construction projects. Liz Oaks, LISD chief financial officer, said the gym’s additional cost is due to inflation. The district’s general fund is healthy enough to cover the addi tional cost, she said.
