Lamesa native Julie Miller wears many hats in serving her hometown community.
Aside from serving as a parole officer, mom, and organizer of the Food 4 Kids for LISD, Miller has taken on the task of serving more than just people.
In mid May, Miller received a call from the police department about a litter of nine puppies and their mother that were turned in to animal control.
“I hate knowing that animals that aren’t claimed will be euthanized after 72 hours, and I knew I had to do something,” said Miller.
