Cotton gins in Dawson County have wrapped up operations for the 2019-2020 season, but the USDA’s cotton classing office in Lamesa will remain in operation for a bit longer.
The final gin still operating in Dawson County shut down for the season last Saturday.
According to the Lamesa Press-Reporter’s weekly survey of 10 area gins, an estimated 178,241 bales of cotton produced in Dawson County were ginned here this year.
