Five more Dawson County residents have been confirmed with COVID-19 cases during the past week, even as the number of people being vaccinated against the virus continues to increase.
After three new cases were reported here during the early part of the week, two additional COVID cases were confirmed on Friday, according to an update from Zach Holbrooks, executive director of the South Plains Public Health District.
As of Friday, Dawson County had seven active cases of the virus, the highest number here in about a month.
