Shortly after noon on Tuesday, August 11, Gaines County had its first bale of cotton roll in at the gin. At that time Seminole Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors member Kurt Brown officially certified the bale of cotton as the first of the crop year harvested in Gaines County. According to Brown, this is the earliest bale on record and is the product of Dustin and Angel Nelson.
