Lamesa firefighters presented a check for $6,000 Wednesday evening to an appreciative representative of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The money was collected during the fire department’s annual Fill the Boot fundraiser for MDA last weekend. “I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Byron Kelso, MDA’s executive director for West Texas, told local firefighters during the presentation at the outset of their monthly drill. “We appreciate what you do for us.
