STANTON – The residents of Stanton were in shock Wednesday when news of a fatal accident was announced involving a Stanton volunteer fire truck. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident and has not released any information at this time. What is known is two members of the Stanton Volunteer Fire Department, Danny Ireton and Allan Carby, were responding to a wreck in Martin County early Wednesday morning.
