Local residents are being cautioned that an apparent scam is underway with telephone calls soliciting donations for Lamesa Fire Rescue and the Volunteer Fire Department. “We do not do that ... we would never do that,” Eddie Schwartz, assistant fire chief/training officer with Lamesa Fire Rescue, said about using the telephone to request donations.
