Featuring an array of music, queen competition and other activities, Lamesa’s annual Fiestas Patrias will get underway Friday and run through Saturday night. Sponsored by local Knights of Columbus Council 7953, the event will be held at Forrest Park. “We want to invite everyone to come out and have fun at the Fiesta,” said Knights of Columbus spoke-man Tommy Flores. Headlining the lineup of musical entertainers taking the stage at the Forrest Park Plaza will be the popular cumbia music group Erick Y Su Grupo Massore. Based in Coahuila, Mexico, the group will wrap up the Fiesta events with a performance from 10 p.m.
