The months of planning and organizing the 11th Chicken Fried Steak Festival paid off last weekend as crowds and vendors turned out to celebrate. The City of Lamesa hosted an array of events during the all-day celebration Saturday and a worship service Sunday. “I believe the festival went great,” said Jamie Gonzales, city event coordinator. “We had a great turnout. Everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was muchneeded for everybody to get out.” One person from Florida, who has family in Dallas, said it was her third time to make a trip to Lamesa for the festival.
