The numbers are getting smaller. More Texas counties are lifting their summer-time bans against outdoor burning and Dawson County’s chances of grassland fires have dramatically diminished.That’s the news Lamesa Volunteer Fire Department Larry Duyck presented to county commissioners Tuesday.There were 87 Texas counties under burn bans as of Tuesday afternoon. That’s 40 less than the 127 counties with bans against outdoor burning.Dawson County hasn’t been under a burn ban since 2011.
