Contestants in the Mr. and Miss Firecracker Pageants for Lamesa’s annual Independence Day Celebration next Thursday will pay a $20 entry fee through this Friday. Pageant entries will be accepted right up until July 4, Chamber President Sandra Adams said, but those who enter after Friday will pay a $30 entry fee. In addition to the pageant, Adams encourages everyone to sign up as soon as possible for the various events that require an entry.
