This week marked the end of an era as the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 34 building was demolished due to the building’s hazardous conditions.The vacant small white building was in disrepair. Its roof was about to cave in and cracks formed in the exterior walls.For decades, the corner of S. Bryan Ave. and S. 8th Street in Lamesa was home to the local DAV.
