Early voting began Monday on eight proposed amendments to the Texas state constitution.As expected for an off-year election without any races for office, voting has gotten off to a slow start here, according to Ashley Barron, the county’s new elections administrator.Only eight people cast votes in person on Monday. By mid-afternoon Tuesday, one more person had voted in person and Barron had received two mail-in ballots.Early voting is being conducted in the county’s new elections office at 504 N. 1st St., just west of the county tax assessor/collector’s office.Early voting will continue through Oct. 29, with the office open from ...
