Dove season in our area opens on Sunday and the hot weather we’ve had lately should concentrate dove around feeding and watering areas. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is predicting an excellent hunting season. And while it has been dry of late, the amount and timing of the spring rains kicked the habitat into high gear for dove breeding season, said TPWD dove program leader, Owen Fitzsimmons.
