DOUBLE LUCK

A storm that washed through Dawson County Saturday left behind a double rainbow in its wake. Double rainbows aren’t as rare as some may think. Rainbows appear when light reflects off the back of a raindrop and bends on its way out. A double rainbow is created when light is reflected twice in a drop. What’s interesting about double rainbows is that the colors are reversed, mirroring the adjacent, primary darker rainbow.
